There is so much about our home that we loved. We did so much to it thinking we would never leave. We chose the place mainly because it was between both Albuquerque and Santa Fe. The best part about our house is the back yard. My wife designed the side and the ponds while I built the patio with ideas from Sandia Casino. The fence was built by myself with seeing fences like that in Santa Fe. We would go out at Sunset and look at all of the different colors of the sunset on the Sandia Crest. After that when it got dark we would watch the fish in our pond and some times have neighbors over for a glass of wine.
We also added the Central air and heat along with putting the Synthetic Stucco on our home to help with the cost of cooling and heating. It knocked our energy bills down 20%.
We loved having family and friends come to visit with the back yard and also we would drive 30 minutes to the Ponderosa Winery to visit with them, and then drive through Jemez Springs and through White Rock Look out and end up in Santa Fe. From there we where only 30 minutes from home.
In the Spring and Summer time we would have neighbors out on there walks stop by and take pitchers of our back yard with our green grass and all of my wives plants. What makes it so easy to have such a nice yard and plants was with my sprinkler system that I have on timers. This way my backyard was watered if I was there or out of town.
The inside of the house we enjoyed during the winter time with both of our fireplaces. It was great to have one of the fireplace's in the dinning room for our family gatherings during the holidays, and the other fireplace was nice to have for my wife in our master bedroom to go and read and watch some of her shows, or with a nice relaxing bath while I was watching my football games in the living room.
