I can’t say enough about living in this home and the Northern Meadows subdivision. We bought this home once we retired from the Military and relocated to NM after accepting a new civilian position and are now being transferred to Oregon.
This is the perfect house to raise kids as well as entertain. We have upgraded it with high end appliances, energy saving items as well as a complete kid and adult friendly “extra Large/low maintenance backyard” for fun and entertainment. The tile upgrades make you feel as if you are living in luxury and the views are wonderful! Sitting on the front porch drinking coffee in the morning or in the bonus room watching the sunrise behind the Sandia Mountains while balloons pass over the house. On the 4th of July we get to view the fireworks from both the High School and ABQ from the driveway. During Balloon Fiesta we see all the Balloons go up at once in the distance, we never get tired of it. At night we sit in the back either on the master balcony or around the fire pit and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine. The rest of the house speaks for itself!
Northern Meadows in itself is a very family friendly and safe subdivision. It is great for family walks and bike rides, I feel safe sending the kids off to any of the 4 parks nearby. The free movies in the park that the HOA puts on are so much fun in the summer. For a HOA community this is the friendliest and most accommodating one I have been in. Yes, we are a little far out but still not too far – The schools are some of the top ones in Rio Rancho and we have more and more amenities being built out here. This part of town is going to be the up and coming part of Rio Rancho, The new section of Unser Rd has been completed. We are in a great location for the New UNM Regional Medical Center, HP, Santa Anna Star Center and easy access to Corrales, Bernalillo and Hwy 25. ABQ is easy access as well following Unser down to HWY 40 to downtown.
I guess what we like best is being able to be in a safe, friendly and family oriented community and be able to shake off a rough day at work.
