Mesa Del Sol's first residential neighborhood expected to make homes available early 2012. The developers have broken ground on the first residential neighborhood.
With the economic downturn, plans to have residents living in 100 homes by early 2010 were delayed. The first phase of the residential project started Monday will include 250 homes. Infrastructure for those homes is expected to be done in six months.
Within the next 30 to 40 years Mesa Del Sol will be fully built and have more than 37,000 homes and 100,000 residents. 18 million square feet of stores, shops and business is expected as well.
The groundbreaking marked the beginning of new infrastructure for the first 250 homes in its first residential neighborhood. These land improvements will take approximately six months to complete, and they prepare the way for four selected homebuilders to start building homes in the first quarter of next year. The four homebuilders selected for this project are Paul Allen Homes, Pulte Homes, Rachel Matthew Homes and RayLee Homes.
