Building green is taking over but did you know there is no definition of 'Green'? Green can mean many different features or appliances built into a home. They range from the home site and how the home is placed on the lot to heating and cooling efficiencyc energy star appliances and where and how the products were manufactured and where they come from.

There is a certification available in NM through Build Green NM which will certify homes build under their guidelines as green. Other than that any green feature can be added to a home to help make it green.

I have many clients use Zillow as an estimator for the home they are selling or the home they are buying. What Zillow does not explain to the unkowning customer is that:

  1. Zillow pulls their information on active listings from our private MLS - They don't get all the data but about 90% of it.
  2. Zillow does NOT have access to sold prices in NM because New Mexico is a non-disclosure State and does not record and make public what a home has sold for. They only show the mortgage amount.
  3. Zillow has no solid data to estimate value on any home.
  4. Another national site, Trulia will send you properties that have been off the market for 2 years just to get you back to the site. Trulia keeps listings in their system and never deletes it. Means old out-dated…

For parents wondering, the first school will be a charter school. The 'International School at Mesa Del Sol' was approved by the New Mexico Public Eductation Commision. It will be the first school in Mesa Del Sol and serve K through 8.  The school is currently being designed and will be located on Sagan Crossing at Mesa Del Sol.

There will be open-enrollment and will draw it's student body from surrounding communities and throughout Albuquerque.

Exciting things are happening at Loma Colorado this Fall.  We have the heavy equipment moving and are almost ready to open nearly a 100 new lots!  The first group of lots will be ready for sale in October with more lots coming on line in November for both the El Bosque and El Prado Series.

ALBUQUERQUE – June 16, 2011 – Another great addition to Mesa Del Sol! 

Nova Corporation, a Navajo-owned defense contractor with offices in Window Rock, Albuquerque and Pennsylvania, will build a 50,000 square foot data center and office building at Mesa Del Sol. The announcement came from Mesa Del Sol officials.

The new building will feature:

  • 25,000 square-feet of data center floor for co-location and cloud initiatives
  • 20,000 square feet of multi-use space for mentoring and business incubation of Navajo students and entrepreneurs.

Initial plans are to employ between 20 and 40 people at the site.
